Do Bioethanol Stoves Give Off Heat? An Honest Explanation

The straight answer is ‘Yes” they certainly do. This is probably our most asked question as many people seem to think they are purely aesthetic. We have three different sized Bioethanol Fuel boxes: Round 1 litre, Oblong 1.5 litre and Square 3 litre. Which box you have in your stove is entirely dependent on the physical size and volume of your chosen stove. So the amount of heat you get out of a stove is more dependent on the size of the box rather than the size of the stove, though you will also get a certain amount of radiant heat once the stove warms up.

The Round box is 3 kW, the Oblong and Square boxes are both 3.5kW and bioethanol burns at around a litre in 3-4 hours.

We have found that the vast majority of our clients are very pleasantly surprised by the amount of heat emitted. We can certainly attest that the Round box heats our conservatory, even in this really cold spell we have been having.

So to summarise, you will be pleasantly surprised by the heat generated and can be happy in the knowledge that you are burning an environmentally friendly fuel. Heat that doesn’t cost the Earth.
