Who we are

We are Tom and Amanda Humphreys and we have been running Stove Hunters since 2012 when we returned from living in France for 6 years in the Loire region. 

Hailing originally from Shropshire. We had owned Smithy Reclamation so we were not exactly unfamiliar with these gorgeous French Stoves as we would occasionally go over to France on buying trips all those years ago. Then when we moved to France we would buy them; clean them and sell them to fund our occasional trips back to the UK and the idea just grew from there to what it is today.

For 10 years we were based in Burbage in a refurbished showroom in an old grain store. We have now moved nearer to our home to a beautiful restored Old Granary within sight of the Devizes White Horse. We are one of the very few showrooms in the UK dedicated to the wonderful, colourful world of antique French stoves. Plenty of parking and 1000 sq ft of showroom for you to peruse and choose which antique stove would add that wow factor to your home. We also have disabled access with a wheelchair accessible lift to the upstairs showroom..

Our workshop is also on site so you can have a chat with Tom about any concerns you may have and if you are lucky, you will be able to actually see one of our lovely stoves being restored. Unfortunately, we do not have time to restore stoves belonging to other people.

We normally have between 20 and 40 restored French stoves on display from which to choose; something for everyone; from the over the top, sumptuous Salamandres which must have looked absolutely fabulous in beautiful Parisian apartments to the more sparten art deco stoves; all shapes, sizes and colours. They are all converted to burn Bio Ethanol so no chimney or flue is required and no fossil fuels are used and no particulates emitted either so great for the environment.

We regularly send our French Antique stoves all over the world so wherever you are, you can have one of our stoves. They are put on a pallet and sent either by land, sea or air depending on where you are. Just email or phone for a quotation.
